Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project's Sponsorships

The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project is dedicated to documenting, honoring, and educating the public about the contributions, struggles, and triumphs of our community. As an all-volunteer non-profit organization, we are the guardians of Wisconsin's largest collection of LGBTQ historical media and the stewards of Wisconisn's only LGBTQ landmarks program.

We believe that everyone's story deserves to be seen. By connecting people with their heritage, we do more than increase awareness: we foster representation, connectivity, and belonging. We plant the seeds for a stronger, more equitable and inclusive Wisconsin, where all citizens feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Together, we can preserve our yesterdays while protecting our tomorrows. With your financial support, we can ensure that our history will be seen for generations to come. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact to our all-volunteer team and the storytellers (past and present) that we serve.

Make an impact on the future of Wisconsin today: consider one of our sponsorship packages OR an online donation today. All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of 501c3 nonprofit law.

ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Sponsor our Website

The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project website is the main location for users to access Wisconsin LGBTQ history. The website is open for all to view and holds the stories, artifacts, pictures and documents of LGBTQ representation in Wisconsin. The website is the state's largest digital repository of LGBTQ media, which in 2025 had 1.75M website visits.

SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS: Company name and/or logo will be prominently featured on all promotions for the initiative on our website.

‘11 Tribes, 11 Stories’ Two-Spirit Project
SPONSORSHIP LEVEL: $5,000 (1 available)

Two-Spirit identity remains one of the most intriguing, and often misunderstood, within LGBTQ communities, largely due to limited awareness and understanding of its cultural and historical significance. 11 Tribes, 11 Stories is a powerful storytelling initiative that centers the voices, histories, and lived experiences of Two-Spirit individuals from each of Wisconsin’s eleven federally recognized Tribal Nations.

This project brings forward eleven deeply personal narratives, each one a reflection of identity, resilience, culture, and community, woven together to illuminate the diversity and strength of Two-Spirit people across the state. Through recorded interviews, visual media, and written storytelling, this project will document and preserve these voices for future generations while fostering greater understanding among both Native and non-Native audiences. Each story will highlight not only personal journeys, but also connections to Tribal traditions, language, family, and community life.

SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS:
Company name and/or logo will be prominently featured on all promotions for the initiative, including flyers, exhibits, video, events, and on our website.

Summer to Be Seen Mobile Exhibit Tour
SPONSORSHIP LEVEL: $5,000 (1 available)

Summer to Be Seen is an engaging, interactive traveling exhibit that honors the people, places, events, and organizations that have advanced LGBTQ+ visibility across Wisconsin. In 2025, our dedicated team of volunteers took the exhibit on the road, visiting more than a dozen hometown Pride celebrations, summer festivals, and civic events—covering over 7,000 miles and reaching communities in every corner of the state. The tour will return in 2026 and 2027 with fresh interactive elements and opportunities for on-site storytelling and interviews. This exhibit has brought LGBTQ stories to life in areas where such histories have often gone untold, shining a light on voices that deserve to be seen and heard.

SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS: Company name and/or logo will be prominently featured on all promotions for the initiative, including flyers, exhibits, video, in person events, and on our website.

The Beacon Project
SPONSORSHIP LEVEL: $3,000 (1 available)

The Beacon Project aims to address the issue of underrepresentation and marginalization of LGBTQ elders voices and experiences in Wisconsin. This project began in Northeast Wisconsin and expanded to Metro Milwaukee, will soon head to Madison/Dane County in late 2026. This initiative aims to document and preserve the stories and experiences of LGBTQ seniors through video and audio recordings. The effort will promote community awareness and combat isolation, erasure and ageism, along with building collaborative archives. Video and audio recordings, along with transcripts, will be available on the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project website for access.

SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS: Company name and/or logo will be prominently featured on all promotions for the initiative, including flyers, exhibits, video, events, and on our website.

Landmarks Program
SPONSORSHIP LEVEL: $1000 (10 available)

The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project’s Landmarks Program is a statewide initiative that transforms overlooked LGBTQ history into visible, lasting public heritage. By identifying and commemorating significant sites, ranging from historic gathering spaces to pivotal moments of activism, the program installs markers, develops memorials, and restores culturally important locations across Wisconsin.

Designed to address the historic absence of LGBTQ representation in official historical recognition, the Landmarks Program creates a network of accessible, place-based stories that connect communities to their local past. Each site serves as both an educational resource and a point of pride, supported by programming such as guided tours, public events, and digital storytelling. Through this work, the Landmarks Program not only preserves history but also activates it, fostering visibility, inclusion, and cultural tourism while ensuring that LGBTQ contributions are permanently embedded in Wisconsin’s shared narrative.

SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS: Company name and/or logo will be prominently featured on all promotions for the initiative, including flyers, exhibits, video, in person events, and on our website.
