When restauranteur Tony Harvey's empire collapsed, Sharon Dixon bought the property at 2000 S. 8th St. Her first concept was Cafe Macaw, a pasta restaurant that opened in September 1988. Cafe Macaw never achieved a loyal following, so Dixon reinvented the space as the over-the-top Mom's Kitchen in March 1990. We welcome any available information about Cafe Macaw.
