Opened as a private membership club to avoid Prohibition rules, Club La Tosca quickly became a scandalous Pansy Craze cabaret serving four floor shows and heavy pours until sunrise. Internationally famous drag superstar Billie Herrero was performing here as early as 1933. The City of Milwaukee raided and closed La Tosca in February 1955. Like most mixed-use properties, Club La Tosca was razed during Third Ward renewal.
