Conversations was not only a popular gathering place for Milwaukee's Black queer communities, but a major sponsor of the Black Gay Pride movement of the early 2000s. Although the bar closed in 2006, it continued to sponsor events at Jamie's Theatre Club (3945 N. 35th St.) through PrideFest 2007.
