D.K.'s Tavern was owned by Dorothy Katorski, a former Allen-Bradley employee who bought the former Sugar Shack in 1983. For five years, D.K.'s was a popular lesbian destination with a strong following. On December 5, 1987, Dotie held a farewell party, and sold the bar to Al Thomas. Thomas claimed it would remain a women's bar, but business didn't improve. In June 1988, D.K.'s was renovated and renamed as The Triangle.
