Doubleday's was the seventh of eight queer spaces to operate at this address between 1976 and 1991. The short-lived bar and grill, operated by "Chuck, Steve and Steve," offered Italian and Greek cuisine in a tavern setting. Unfortunately, the restaurant could not recapture the magic of Shadows. Doubleday's only lasted six months.
