Ed Grunewald opened Club 5 in fall 1998 as a more modern and spacious replacement for his former venue, Manouevres (151 S. Blair St.) Since Grunewald's passing in 2008, Five has become a nightlife powerhouse and community center under the leadership of owner Dave Eick.
