Gargoyles was a popular Milwaukee gay bar that opened on Thanksgiving Day, 1995. It marketed itself as a welcoming "Social Club" for making new friends. To attract the local Levi, leather, and biker communities, the bar's advertisements highlighted its location between two other popular bars, the Wreck Room and the Boot Camp.
In September 1996, InStep reported that owners were considering a new name for the business. Gargoyles disappeared sometime in the next two weeks, and the building later became South Water Street Docks.
