Gay Street Station opened in July 1986. The bar had a turn-of-the-century, Union Station-themed decor and emphasized a women-friendly atmosphere. The short-lived bar closed in October 1987. Owners Lois and Sheri relocated and renamed the business Station II - The Eastern Connection, which operated for approximately 14 years.

The historic building was destroyed by fire on July 9, 1990. We welcome any available information about this location.
