Rose Billingsley and Julia LaLoggia opened Ginger in 2008 serving tapas-style small plate dinners. By 2009, it was recognized as one of the "Best New Restaurants" by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Although Ginger was intended to be a neighborhood anchor, the business earned a reputation for unreliable business hours. LaLoggia decide to exit the restaurant business, leave Milwaukee, and start a small-scale farm where she could host chef dinner and farm-stay vacations. Ginger closed August 1, 2016.
