Morry Silberman's He & She disco opened in the basement of Point Loomis Mall in October 1973. It quickly became a "bisexual chic" hotspot. Listed in mail-order swinger guides, the club encouraged sexual exploration. The He & She offered free entry, drinks, and food for single women to attract couples. At 10,000 square feet, it was the largest disco in the state. A Milwaukee Journal review noted that patrons came with spouses and left with lovers. The club closed in 1977, predating the homophobia and biphobia of the AIDS crisis, but remains an important (and sexually fluid) moment in Wisconsin LGBTQ history.
