The Hideaway, a cozy bar for men, opened in August 1976. Owned by "Mike and George," it replaced the Decision (an even shorter-lived bar that may never have opened at all.) Despite being advertised in local publications, the Hideaway's run was very brief. After just six months, all advertisements and mentions of the Hideaway disappeared. Hideaway was third in a series of eight non-consecutive queer spaces at this address since December 1944.
