Hot Legs Video Nite Club, owned by Karen Kay and Kathy Krau (of the Nut Hut,) opened in October 1984 as a women-first video bar and dance club. It became a community hub, hosting a popular softball team and serving as an anchor for MAPFest 1986. The bar's softball team competed in the Gay World Series in 1987, winning the SSBL trophy for Women's Playoff Champion. Despite its smashing success, Hot Legs closed in September 1987 due to competition from other lesbian bars. Shadows II opened here in December 1987.
