Just Us was a popular club in Milwaukee co-owned by Steve Byers and Janet Mueller. It was known for its equally mixed clientele, a patio, and a separate, but unpopular, non-smoking lounge. The bar featured drag shows, pageants, and a full-service kitchen, including a popular Friday fish fry. It also provided free meeting space for local LGBTQ groups, including the Shoreline dance company that called it home. The bar's run was short-lived, however, as it closed in July 1998 when Byers decided to retire.
