The Lark was a queer space in downtown Wausau that advertised in the LGBTQ media from 1973 to 1977. Owned by Cecil and Eleanore Charboneau for about 20 years starting in the late 1960s, the bar was a fixture in the community. Their son, Curtis, was also involved in the business. After Cecil's death in 1989, The Lark closed down. The property was later razed to make way for the Jefferson Inn complex. The last known photograph of the building was taken in 2002. We welcome any available information about this location.
