Mama Roux, also known as "Mama Roux Bar Americain & Grill," was a popular East Side Milwaukee bar and restaurant that operated from March 1994 to March 1999. The bar was owned by Jim Roddell, a local service industry veteran, who sought to create a Situated near Brady Street, the "East Side Alternative" was known for its no-attitude vibe. Influenced by New Orleans culture and history, the kitchen served Cajun food and popular Friday fish fries. Mama Roux closed in spring 1999 without a fifth anniversary celebration.
