From December 1971 to April 1972, Marie's Get Involved Lounge operated in the space formerly occupied by The Forum (1960-1965) and The Pirates Den (1965-1971.) Marie's advertised itself as a "Black-White Bar" offering "Hot Tamales," but very little is known about its actual owners, clientele or business model. Some customers remember the bar becoming a lesbian space after the relaunch. After its short run, the bar disappeared from all local publications. We welcome any available information about this location.
