Mr. Ric's is somewhat of a mystery. The restaurant advertised in GPU News and Milwaukee Calendar from November 1977 until 1980. Bob Damron mentions Mr. Ric's in a June 1978 review of gay Milwaukee. However, there was never a "Mr. Ric's" licensed at 714 N. Broadway. Rick Unmack operated the Em-Ric Lounge at that address from 1976 to 1980. He later operated Mr. Ric's Coachlight at 7600 W. Forest Home. Was he Mr. Ric? Was Mr. Ric's just an attempt to attract gay after-hours business? We welcome any available information about this location.
