We are a self-funded, independent, all-volunteer, non-profit team -- and we provide most services FREE to the community.
We are honored to join the long, proud legacy of Community Shares of Wisconsin, a social justice collective based in Madison that raises awareness, engagement, and critical funding for humanitarian causes, including:
"As a new 501c3 nonprofit, we have much to learn from our peers who are leading social change for Wisconsin," said Michail Takach, president and chair. "Through this new partnership, we earn a tremendous circle of support for our outreach, fundraising, education, governance, and talent development goals, as well as advance our commitments to social responsibility."
Community Shares added 16 new members this year, raising the total membership number to 82.
About Community Shares
Since 1971, Community Shares of Wisconsin has been building the local social and environmental justice movement. Its member non-profits are on the front lines throughout Wisconsin to protect our rights and build a safe and sustainable future for all of us. Community Shares of Wisconsin has a history of challenging injustice, standing up and speaking out on controversial issues, challenging and reducing community harm, and creating innovative solutions to social problems.
Community Shares acknowledges that racism and other forms of oppression, including ableism, sexism, classism, homophobia and transphobia, are systemic and result in socioeconomic disparities. The goal of the organizaiton is to confront the root causes of these issues to create impactful and measurable change for Wisconsin.
Through online giving, workplace giving, and the Big Share annual fundraising campaign, Community Shares raised over $1M for its member nonprofits in 2024. These critically needed funds advance mission-based community health, well-being, and heritage programs in every corner of Wisconsin.
