Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project Fundraiser
If you appreciate the History Project's work, we hope you'll support the second fundraiser in our 29-year history!
We are a self-funded, independent, all-volunteer, non-profit team -- and we provide most services FREE to the community.
Meet Laila, our spring semester intern, who joins us on Monday, January 26.
"I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, majoring in anthropology with a minor in geographical information sciences. I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin, and moved to Milwaukee for college, where I’ve enjoyed exploring the city and learning more about its history and communities. After graduation, I hope to travel, explore and create maps for archaeologists, anthropologists, and educators."
Laila will be partnering with our Archives & Collections Committee to process an abundance of recent donations. Through this assignment, she will receive hands-on, personalized training from some of the state's most accomplished archivists and historians, while learning about the hidden histories of Wisconsin's diverse LGBTQ communities.
We were able to provide this paid internship through the University of Wisconsin work-study program and generous community donations. Your financial support makes experiences like these possible for the next generation of Wisconsin leaders. Consider a donation -- in any amount -- today at our website.
