Frontiers, founded in Madison in 1981, brought gay and bisexual men together for several decades before evolving into today's Madison Gay Video Club.

Frontiers was a Madison-area gay / bisexual men's social group founded by Larry Kneeland in April 1981.
The group celebrated its 10th anniversary in 1991 and presented Dr. Terry Boughner with an award in 1993. However, there are no traces of their activities after that date.
At some point, Kneeland relaunched Frontiers as the Madison Gay Video Club, which continues to host movie nights in 2026.
