Christopher R. Gorski ('Chris') was described as "a vital part of the community". Early on he volunteered at the Senior Center, Italian Fest, and made craft projects for local grade schools. In addition to an artistic talent, Chris was very fashion conscious.
In January 1992 he put on the first memorial benefit for his late lover Richard Wyatt (aka 'Ginger Spice') at Club 219. It was the largest private fundraiser for MAP (Milwaukee AIDS Project) ever held to date.
He took over the Miss Continental Pageant with Ginger's death, running the pageant in 1992. He was also involved with MAP's client advisory panel. Even weak from his own illness, Chris still particiated in the Wisconsin AIDS Walk in the fall of 1992.
Chris reportedly received experimental treatments for his HIV infection, one of his final contributions to the community.
