Gertude Ann Ambelang

Gertude Ann Ambelang, along with her husband, Bob, was a dedicated volunteer at the BESTD Clinic. Affectionately known as Granny & Grandpa Condom, she and Bob assembled thousands of packets of condoms and risk reduction/ safer sex information for distribution by the Clinic volunteers.

One of her last outings was to attend the Musicians United Against AIDS Symphony Concert sponsored by BESTD at the Pabst Theatre. This was especially significant for her because she had danced on the Pabst Stage as a youngster.

A service giving thanks for her life was held at Graceland Cemetery Chapel in Milwaukee on January 16, followed by a gathering at the M&M Club. Her family requested that memorials be sent to the BESTD Clinic.
