Stephen M. Byers

Stephen Byers, managing attorney of the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW), as of 1995 had already presented over 250 workshops on legal representation for AIDS/HIV providers in the state and across the country. He is the author of the book, "AIDS and the Law in Wisconsin". He was also part owner of the Just Us bar in Milwaukee.

In January 1994, Byers was presented with the 1994 Pro Bono Award for Legal Services Attorney from the State Bar of Wisconsin. Byers, of the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, was cited as a "truly modern era pioneer for his work in providing legal services to those who are HIV positive and in forming programs wto assist in this population."
