From 1964 to 1969, Chick's was listed in national gay guides as an "At Your Own Risk" cruise bar. While the bar was owned by Frank "Chick" Cicchini, "friendly" bartender Joe Pacetti is most often mentioned.

"Chick" was born in La Salle, Illinois on August 19, 1916 and moved to Kenosha at age 4. As an iron worker, he was involved in forming and leading local unions. He was a major sports fan, and the bar was a generous sponsor of numerous teams. "Chick" was also a hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman who spent as much time as possible in Northern Wisconsin. He and his wife Emma Pacetti raised three children in Kenosha, where the family was heavily involved in charitable causes and civic organizations.

Chick's Bar moved around Kenosha quite a bit throughout its lifespan. It was first located at 2410 52nd Street in 1952 before moving to 2112 52nd Street where it became Pop & Chick's Bar. In October 1953, the bar moved to 505 58th St, across from Frank's Diner in downtown Kenosha, where it would remain for the next 25 years. Throughout this era, Chick's was a destination sportsbar in downtown Kenosha.

Chick retired in 1978 to spend more time upnorth. Sadly, he was involved in a tragic automobile accident on March 8 ,1980 in Libertyville, Illinois. He died shortly after midnight at age 63.

Chick's Bar was razed sometime afterwards for a city-owned parking lot.
