The Lost & Found was a popular women's disco that operated on North 27th Street from 1978 to 1984. Owned by Pete and Bev Nilsson and managed by Karla Farr, it was one of the first gay bars in Milwaukee to play New Wave music. The bar was a community hub, hosting drag events and game shows, sponsoring sports teams, and holding an annual corn roast. It closed after six years due to the decline of its surrounding neighborhood. The location briefly reopened as the Music Box and later the 27th Street Danceteria, but neither achieved the lasting popularity of the Lost & Found.
