Nitengales, a women's bar co-owned by "Linda" and "Carrie," opened on September 3, 1989. It quickly became a popular venue for women, known for its "All Woman" shows and various fundraisers. The bar also sponsored a softball team in the SSBL league. Despite its success, Nitengales began to advertise less frequently in 1991. Without warning, the owner, Carrie, renamed the establishment BoysTown Nite Club on June 11, 1993, shifting its focus away from the lesbian scene. The bar closed in December 1993.
