Plan B was co-founded by Corey Gresen and Rico Sabatini in 2009. The club was immediately popular -- too popular for the neighbors, who cited Plan B with noise complaints. Sabatini exited in 2014 and Josh Scherer and Albert Borokhim became co-owners. Plan B was home to numerous community events, including the annual Fruit Fest. However, customers and employees expressed concerns about racism, transphobia, and overall safety. After a December 2018 controversy led to a widespread boycott, owners threatened to close. Plan B closed February 17, 2019, but Sabatini and partners reopened as Prism, an all-inclusive safe space, on March 1, 2019.
