The Platwood Club was a gay bar in Stevens Point open only on weekends. Founded by Ernest and Theresa Firkus, it was later owned by Henry H. Duda—a former sheriff, farmer, boxer, and the father of a gay son, David. Henry described himself as "straight but not narrow." The Platwood, a nightclub since the 1940s, switched to exotic male and female dancers from 1970 to 1978. In the late 80s, the bar reopened and was listed in gay guides until October 2002. We welcome any available information about this location.
