Geraldine's ceased operations in late 2002, but "New Ray's" reopened a year later at 2526 E. Washington Ave. The new location promised new experiences, including "Jake's (inside Ray's)" in summer 2004 and "The Warehouse" in October 2005 (which claimed to be reminiscent of the Hotel Washington.) Whether either of these subspaces ever actually opened remains unknown. After 14 years, Ray's Bar closed for good on April 9, 2007, when owner Ray Jacobson was evicted for insufficient funds to cover rent.
