After the Regency East closed, bartender George Diefenbach opened Ten Hundred East. Before the advent of large-scale discos, it was the place to be and be seen. Known for its mix of college students, neighbors, and an older crowd, the bar featured dancing, live entertainment, and a piano bar. When Judy Garland died on June 22, 1969, Ten Hundred East held a vigil. The bar faded away quietly in 1980. We welcome any available information about this location.
