Logo:
The Velvet Swing opened as a straight bar, became a well-known gay bar, and then "rebranded" as a swingers bar in September 1968. The notorious club offered go-go girls, live music, dance-off contests, "bisexual chic," and Madison's largest dancefloor. The Velvet Swing was listed in national gay guides as well as national swinger mailing lists. Logo aside, it's not clear what, if any, connection existed between this site and other Velvet Swings around the country. By late 1970, the club had become Cue-Nique Billiard Hall. We welcome any available information about this location.
