Viva La Femme operated in Walker's Point from December 2006 to December 2007. Its owner, Desiree "Dee" Harrell, sought to celebrate femininity and create a space where everyone felt empowered and inspired.
Entertainers included Jazzy St. James, Dynasty Scott, Lady Symone, Misha Mahon, Dominque Mahon, Marco Dupree, Shannon Dupree, Ritchie St. James, Barbie Sodie, Eddie, Mia, and Bryanna Banx.
Viva La Femme offered free HIV testing and was part of pilot program for the Wisconsin HIV Program. Dee also maintained a scholarship fund for LGBTQ community members.
Dee was tragically shot and killed on January 2, 2012.
