Vuk's Place, a friendly neighborhood bar, opened in December 1992. The bar faced immediate issues, including parking problems, a liquor license dispute, petty crime, a temporary shutdown,and having to rebrand as Vuk's II. Despite dedicated customers, Vuk's could not overcome the challenges of a rapidly changing neighborhood. "Tom," working two full-time jobs, closed the bar in May 1995.
