Walker's Pint, a Milwaukee lesbian bar co-owned by Elizabeth "Bet-Z" Boenning, is one of the longest-operating women's bars in the nation. After popular women's bars Dish and Fannies, closed, Boenning wanted to create a new kind of space with large, open windows and a comfortable, homey feel, in contrast to the dark, industrial vibes of other gay bars. The Pint is a genuine, non-pretentious bar with a big personality that welcomes everyone, regardless of gender or sexual identity. It's served as a launch pad for local performers, including local favorite DJ Shawna. As one of the few remaining lesbian bars in the United States, Walker's Pint has received significant national media coverage.
