Formerly the Ski Glow Cafe, Walker's Point Cafe was already a go-to spot for the after-bar crowd. In 1987, owner Michael "Miss M" Roberts sold to George Kreuzer, who sold again to Dennis Hill in 1998. Hill envisioned an all-ages, all-day, alcohol-free internet cafe in a neighborhood only known for late nights. Hill installed free high-speed internet, a new sound system, and the first CD jukebox in Milwaukee. While the new model attracted and connected a generation of LGBTQ youth, the cyber cafe wasn't profitable enough to remodel, much less survive. It closed permanently on June 26, 1998.
