Mark "Za" Mariucci and Ken Kujava moved their popular Green Bay bar, Za's, to Main Street in 1991. They completely renovated the building, creating a two-in-one establishment with a dance bar, Za's, and a lounge, Java's. The venue became Green Bay's nightlife destination for over a decade. After Kujava's unexpected death in 2000, Mariucci was forced to relocate the bar, which briefly left the Main Street building vacant. It reopened in 2003 as XS.
